This lady’s intelligent sarcasm sharply brought into focus some of society’s dark sides whose existence made it necessary for me to think deeply about their implications. The character with whom I resonated most closely was Elizabeth Bennet, who became an inspiration for me throughout my life’s journey as I navigated the rough patches with grace and fortitude ultimately turning them into calm waters.
