Two Titans Collide in a Supernatural Showdown

Jujutsu Kaisen 25: Volume 25

Jujutsu Kaisen 25: Volume 25

Gege Akutami's long-running supernatural action series reaches a fever pitch in its twenty-fifth volume, as the pieces of a months-long power struggle finally crash together in spectacular fashion. The story follows Yuji Itadori, a teenager who swallowed a fragment of the ancient demon Ryomen Sukuna to save a friend, and has been living with the consequences ever since. Scattered remnants of Sukuna's body exist throughout the world, and any cursed spirit that consumes them risks tipping the balance of power toward catastrophe. Standing against this threat is a school of jujutsu sorcerers, practitioners of a supernatural art dedicated to keeping the living world intact. This volume tightens the screws considerably. Sukuna is pulling strings to eliminate Tsumiki, whose body has been taken over by Yorozu, all as part of a calculated scheme to seize full control of Fushiguro. On the other side, Itadori and his allies are working with Kurusu and the Angel (both barely holding together after narrowly surviving recent battles) in a desperate bid to resurrect Satoru Gojo. It's a lot of moving parts, but Akutami handles the complexity with admirable clarity. The volume builds to what fans have been anticipating for some time: a direct confrontation between Sukuna, history's most formidable sorcerer, and Gojo, his present-day equal. It's a clash that carries genuine dramatic weight, and the series has certainly earned it.
